Download and installation
Rynci v0.8.0 is distributed as a single evaluation package containing the cross-platform Python-based CLI. The same installation unlocks with your $99 registration key; no second download is necessary.

1. Requirements
| Task | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Install and run | Windows 10/11, macOS, or modern Linux with Python 3.10+ and internet for Python dependencies. A compatible Python installation is required for this evaluation package. |
| Read public CI runs | Network access to GitHub API; GitHub token recommended for limits or private repositories. |
| Execute a replay | Docker, act and optionally Git. Apple Silicon or Windows hosts may differ from Linux GitHub runners. |
| Verify in a browser | Optional Playwright and a Chromium browser installation. |
2. Windows (PowerShell)
Extract the ZIP. Open PowerShell in the extracted rynci-evaluation folder:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\install.ps1
.\rynci.cmd --version
.\rynci.cmd check
.\rynci.cmd demo
.\rynci.cmd license status
The installer creates a private virtual environment inside the extracted folder. Your trial and license are saved separately in your user application-data folder.
3. macOS and Linux (Terminal)
Extract the ZIP, open Terminal in rynci-evaluation, then run:
sh ./install.sh
./rynci --version
./rynci check
./rynci demo
./rynci license status
The CLI uses a local Python virtual environment. Standard tools required by local replay should be installed separately from their official sources.
4. Diagnose a failed run
rynci doctor "https://github.com/OWNER/REPO/actions/runs/RUN_ID" --open
For private repositories, use a fine-grained token granting read access to Actions and Contents. Set GH_TOKEN or GITHUB_TOKEN in your shell, not in code you commit.
5. Preview and execute replay
rynci replay "https://github.com/OWNER/REPO/actions/runs/RUN_ID" --clone --until-failure
rynci replay "https://github.com/OWNER/REPO/actions/runs/RUN_ID" --clone --execute --until-failure
The first command prepares a plan. The second executes workflow code on your computer through Docker and act. Never execute untrusted workflows on a machine containing sensitive credentials.
6. Registration
rynci license activate
rynci license status
Paste the purchased key into the hidden prompt. Your key is verified offline and remains valid for all eligible versions. Claim a completed purchase or recover your registration.
7. Troubleshooting
Missing Python: install Python 3.10+ and retry. macOS permissions: use sh install.sh rather than double-clicking a downloaded shell script. Docker/act unavailable: diagnostics and verification can still work, but replay execution cannot. Browser test missing: optional Playwright browser setup is documented in the manual.
